Region information

Sainte Foy (1520 - 2620 m) is located in the heart of the Tarentaise Valley, close to the Italian border and as well as having its own little known and uncrowded ski area, it is an excellent base for those with a car to visit some of France's classic ski areas, within a thirty minute drive, including Val d'Isere, Tignes and les Arcs as well as the cross border French/Italian region of La Rosiere/La Thuile. It's also more affordable than most of these giant resorts surrounding it, with the local lift ticket (and everything else) far cheaper than most of its neighbours.

Skiers, boarders and telemarkers alike will revel in the powder just yards from the pistes or amongst the trees, which lasts for days thanks to its north-west facing slopes.

Sainte Foy is between 10 and 25 minutes drive from the world-renowned ski resorts of Val d'Isère, Tignes, Les Arcs and La Rosière. Your Sainte Foy lift pass offers you discounted rates to ski at all these resorts during your stay.
Sainte-Foy is equally beautiful in the summer. The village offers you activities like mountain biking and white water rafting, rock climbing and paragliding.

Eating and Drinking

Lunch is generally served between 12 noon and 2:30 pm; dinner, the main meal in France, is served around 8 pm. Service is included in the price, but it is common to leave a tip of about 10% if you have been satisfied with your meal.

Travelling by Car
France has a well-laid out network with national and departmental roads as well as toll motorways, which may be paid by credit card.
The speed limit on the motorways is 130 km/h (110 km in rainy weather), 110 km/h on national roads (100 km in rainy weather), 90 km/h on all other roads and 50 km/h in town.
Safety belts are obligatory in the front and rear of the vehicle.
